Preciosa Ornela, a traditional Czech producer of a wide range of glass products ranging from glass rods to technical and utility glass and through to all types of glass beads and seed beads, has entered into a totally new field.
The company presented a revolutionary new product, glass fertiliser, from its development laboratory at this year’s “Země živitelka” 2025 international agricultural exhibition. And it received the event’s most prestigious award, i.e. the “Zlatý klas” 2025 award, in its debut year.
However, the company demonstrated in České Budějovice that “glass” (specifically, phosphate glass) can also be put to significant use in agriculture. The response from the expert public and visitors was exceptionally positive and the “Zlatý klas” award is proof of the fact that innovations from North Bohemia have the chance to change not only industry, but also soil management.
